Dr. Nirmal Ouseppachan IAS, the doctor turned IAS officer is every fathers’ dream child. Through his determination and perseverance, he fulfilled his father’s dream of becoming a doctor and that of his principal, a father figure who recognised the genius in him and encouraged to become an IAS officer. He is currently serving as the Sub Divisional Magistrate (sub collector), Kotkapura, Faridkot, Punjab. Q Factory is in cloud nine to announce Dr. Nirmal Ouseppachan IAS as the final quiz master of the Circadian Rhythm 1.0, Stage 1 Quiz Competition organized by Sree Uthradom Thirunal (SUT) medical college in association with Q Factory as the knowledge partner.

A father, who wanted to become a medical student due to financial constraints couldn’t fulfil his dream. But life had bigger plans for him in store. Dr. Nirmal, his son earned his MBBS in 2014 and cracked the civil service exam to become a part of the prestigious administration service in 2018. Within a short span of time, Dr. Nirmal IAS has gained the public’s attention through his involvement in various welfare programs including his initiatives in spreading awareness against drug abuse and being the part of Ghar Ghar Rozgar Mission – a huge step to fix unemployment in India. His contribution towards setting up a village mini library in association with @thelibraryprojectindiaedit is also notable.

Dr. Nirmal Ouseppachan IAS was always an avid reader, a movie buff interested in decoding the deeper meaning within it and an ardent quizzer. His earliest memory of quizzing is when his father used to take him to various speech and quiz competitions which later had played a great role in his civil service journey. Hence he is a great advocate of quizzing as an intellectual exercise and believes in its potential to develop skills required for children to face the challenges posed by the 21st century.
